Spalletti aims jab at Di Canio over Leao incident: “Let’s go teach children around the world…”

Luciano Spalletti did not agree with the referee’s decisions last night nor was he a fan of what Paolo Di Canio said about them either, it appears.

Granted, the major decisions on the night did go against Napoli in terms of cards as they were dealt two big blows in the second half with Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa received two yellow cards within minutes and then Kim Min-jae also got a booking which rules him out of the second leg.

However, there could be no complaints about what led to the Cameroonian midfielder’s second yellow as he caught Theo with a high boot, while the South Korean defender went through the back of Alexis Saelemaekers before showing dissent to the official.

As MilanNews report, was some tension in the post match interview that Spalletti did with Sky Italia. The Napoli coach was clearly annoyed by the – according to him – bad refereeing direction by Kovacs during the game, and he took on Di Canio who criticised Kim for blatant protests.

“Let’s look at Zielinski’s yellow card and the one he didn’t give Krunic. Let’s talk about the flag: there is no more striking gesture than this. You who talk about Kim’s striking gestures, let’s go teach children around the world that if you play football you can break the flag,” he said.
