Sportitalia: Calhanoglu seems convinced by Milan’s offer at last but must respond soon

If before there was seemingly no chance that Hakan Calhanoglu would renew, the playmaker appears to be moving towards extending his stay.

According to the latest from Sportitalia (via MilanNews), the two parties are back in contact over a new deal but Milan have absolutely no intention of participating in auctions and will not compete against other clubs. The Turkey international seems to have convinced himself to accept the proposal that director Paolo Maldini has submitted to his agent Gordon Stipic.

The new course of action for Milan though is not to wait for anyone – as seen in the Gianluigi Donnarumma saga – and above all to assert the importance of belonging to the club, regardless of the competition.

For this reason, even Calhanoglu cannot be an exception and the club will not wait forever, especially given how he might simply be biding his time to see if more economically lucrative offers from the rest of Europe arrive.
