As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Origi’s presence was news in itself, since everyone had lost track of him. Not just the fans, but also the club. Tare’s arrival evidently also served to re-establish contact with the ‘vanished striker’, also because there is the need to bring the matter to a close.
No agreement found
The striker went up to the fourth floor of the club’s headquarters, where he did not stay for very long. Translated: no agreement. On the table was, and remains, the termination of the contract, expiring in a year.
The Belgian earns €4m net, or €5.2m gross with the mitigation of the Growth Decree. These are effectively millions that the Rossoneri are continuing to throw out the window. To say goodbye a year early, however, it is obviously necessary to find an agreement on the severance pay.
It is an agreement that has not been found today, so a second round is expected in the next few days. Origi, who turned 30 in April, will have to somehow find a point of agreement with the Diavolo if he wants to start playing again.
The risk, if this is not the case, is that of repeating last season’s trend: out of the project, out of the squad. A year ago he was aggregated to Milan Futuro, where he never trained or played. Divock spent a year, well paid, training alone between Rome and Florence (never setting foot in Milanello).
Milan want to avoid wasting another €5m and in the meantime hope that the Belgian wants to take back a career that was once bright.
