The sale still frustrates some, with the Rossoneri never really replacing the German with an apt alternative – Koni De Winter is a strong addition, but more was needed.

I’ve always believed Koni De Winter is better than Thiaw. Malick Thiaw makes too many bone head mistakes but he is still a good defender with a high potential. Players value nowadays are beyond ridiculous and doesn’t truly reflect their ability and talent. But Milan should have been wise enough to insert a sell on clause.
Can’t really say Milan sold too low many praised Tare for the money he got for Thiaw, personally no regrets for Milan either way

We haven’t sold Camarda. There is an option to buy for Lecce but subject to an immediate buy-back by Milan. The difference is 1 million. This was done just so that Lecce would want to play him and meet the clause so that they would make the 1 million difference. It’s basically paying them 1 million to develop our player. It didn’t work out well because Camarda got injured and needed surgery, but that was not predictable. Camarda will absolutely return to Milan. There is no intention whatsoever of getting rid of Camarda; much the opposite.
We haven’t sold Tomori either.
I don’t know where you’re getting these ideas from, but they are mistaken.
We did sell Kalulu (which I regret; that was pretty stupid including because we used the same amount of money to buy the disastrous Emerson Royal), Thiaw (which I don’t regret; he is a mixed bag), and Reijnders (which I regret but there was no way not to do it because we needed the capital gain to remain profitable; a big sale that year was inevitable.
Our managers do make mistakes. But of the players you have mentioned I believe that the only mistake was selling Kalulu to a direct rival, and then using that money to buy a completely useless player; fortunately at least we were able to sell him to Flamengo without a capital loss.
Look at where Juve and Newcastle are in their league and then come back and tell me it was a mistake. De Winter, Gabbia and Barteshagi are an upgrade. We have two Italian boys in the starting XI now and you’re complaining!?!? Camarda has been a bust and hasn’t been sold. Reijnders have been no more than okay for Man City.
I prefer De Winter, and the money was good. But I certainly wouldn’t mind having Thiaw & Kalulu in place of Gabbia.

Thiaw was never good with us. Take the 40 million and be happy with it. He didn’t even show potential. Never consistent. Looked slow. Always out of position and a liability to make a bad foul. No need to second guess a team even dumber than Newcastle willing to pay even more for him.
There’s no regret. De Winter is a better defender. It’s the EPL, of course clubs are impressed by his athleticism. Even if he goes to Newcastle, so what? He’s no longer a Milan player. We move on, we move forward. Is there regret about Hauge because he’s finally having a great season, 6 or so years after leaving Milan? No.

He’s only being quoted those figures because he now has EPL experience.
Even if Milan sold him nowadays, he would never have been priced at those figures, because Milan aren’t an EPL club.
