Malick Thiaw has decided to reject the offer from Como and will thus remain at AC Milan, at least for the time being.
An agreement was found between Milan and Como over a €25m fee, while a €4m per year salary offer was on the table. However, reports claimed that the centre-back wasn’t keen, wanting either a move to a club in European competitions or a return to Germany, to boost his national team hopes.

As days passed pessimism grew that Cesc Fabregas would be able to convince the former Schalke 04 talent, and it has emerged this afternoon that Thiaw has officially turned down the chance to move to the lake.
Thiaw says no to Como
Fabrizio Romano writes on X: “Malick Thiaw will NOT join Como, deal off after the defender rejected the proposal. AC Milan agreed €25m fee with Como but talks now over.”
Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport adds: “Malick Thiaw has rejected Como’s proposal, which offered him a contract worth nearly 4 million per season. Milan would have earned about 25 million from that deal. The situation for him remains open: a possible relaunch or a foreign option.”
Earlier today, the same journalist outlined why Thiaw is the ‘most expendable’ centre-back that Milan have, but also didn’t rule out that Massimiliano Allegri could find a role for him next season.

Not sure this is good or bad news for Milan, I think he has room to grow and after a few high profile errors early on, starting to become a decent defender (good passing, dominant in the air etc)
Now, if hes not committed to playing for us after we tried to sell him, thats a different story. But if he wants to be here, I think hes a good CB option, I’d rather sell Tomori to fund the Leoni purchase.

Tomori does not appear to be on the market. Tomori was actually liked to several clubs. The player that should be leaving but won’t is Gabbia. And no one, not one club is interested in him either. not one.
I think it’s a net positive. 4 CBs who have played at least one season together. They should have more protection from the midfield and hopefully some better support from the FBs. At this point the priority should be selling players that don’t have a spot in the team and finding two staring FBs.

Get rid of Gabbia and Tomori, then, because they’re much worse than Thiaw.
Why gabbia ? He is not that bad . He is also homegrown , you can only register 17 foreign player, selling thiaw ( foreign) will open slot for leoni ( defender that allegri like)
Gabbia was at the heart of our terrible defense last year. He is slow and was easily pulled out of position. He is struggles in 1v1 situations. He is not good enough to play such a central role in defense. A decent sub, yes, but he cannot be a starter.
How do you know Leoni is going to be such an improvement? We know what we are getting in Thiaw. He is calm under pressure, handles the ball well, is quick to recover and looks like he can get better. Leoni may turn out to another DeSciglio, or another Calabria? Very good start, but never got much better.

Too slow, own goal, play like limbo in the field. Under allegri, he will bench warmer. Better he should go to como. Upgrade salary, first team player and increase his chances to go to Germany national team. Football isn’t always passion and win but with logic too
I’m ok if any player leaves, but the replacement needs to be an upgrade or why bother? Leoni is 18, never set foot on the field for the national team and never played in Euro tournaments and we think he is going to be the answer to our defensive shortcomings? If we are going to bring in Leoni, I would keep all of our current CBs and slowly bring Leoni into the team. He may be the future, but I would not bet on an 18 yr old for the present. Way too much pressure.
