Sandro Tonali has certainly not ruled out the possibility of a return to AC Milan at some point in the future, despite having only joined Newcastle United recently.

A few months ago it seemed as though Tonali was an immovable part of Milan’s future. His growth as a midfielder had led him to being regarded as one of the best in Serie A, and his well documented love for the Rossoneri had some suggesting he could be a future icon.
However, there was a managerial shake-up that saw Paolo Maldini leave as director, with CEO Giorgio Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada coming in.
Their first big move was to agree the club-record sale of Tonali, something which created another violent storm. Ultimately, the financial package put forward by the Magpies in terms of transfer fee and salary was too much for anyone to turn down.
Fate is such that the Italian didn’t have to wait long to meet his old club as Newcastle were drawn against the Diavolo in the Champions League group stages, and Tonali got a great reception from the Milan fans as he came out to warm up.
Tonali spoke after the game against his former club on Tuesday night and he was asked about the possibility that he could run out at San Siro again as a Milan player.
“I don’t know… I’d pay to know my future. Maybe yes, maybe not. Football is strange. I’m not closing the door to AC Milan. I can’t and won’t hide my love, passion for Milan,” he said (via Fabrizio Romano).
