Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of the season and Milan are currently negotiating with his agent, Gordon Stipic, over a renewal. However, it has turned out to be difficult as the No.10 wants a big pay rise.
The Turkish midfielder has asked for his new deal to be worth around €5m, which is double what he currently earns. Milan, on the other hand, have gone as far as €4m and maybe €4.5m in the negotiations, meaning there is still distance.
On Twitter, we sent out questions about four topics including Calhanoglu’s contract renewal. Has Calhanoglu earned a big pay rise, we asked, and the answers were pretty unanimous on the matter as Milan are looking to lower the wage bill.
‘Not a big one imo’, one fan wrote, followed by ‘he’s too inconsistent’ from another fan. Some said that ‘Hakan deserves a pay rise’, but as said the answers seemed to agree that the Rossoneri can’t offer him too much in the negotiations.
