Tuttosport: Milan could accelerate for €10m striker as Pioli gives go-ahead

Stefano Pioli wants a new striker and one of the players at the top of Milan’s wish list is Alvaro Morata. He’s an experienced player, also in Italy, and the Rossoneri could make a move amid the low price tag.

Olivier Giroud will not be able to play every single game from start to finish next season and Milan thus need to sign a striker. Of course, it’s also due to the fact that Divock Origi has been a big disappointment thus far.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the name of Alvaro Morata has gathered steam in the last few days and Pioli has given the go-ahead for the move. Milan are tempted, especially since there is a €10m release clause.

Morata also lowered his salary with the recent renewal with the Spanish side and is now within reach for Milan. Gianluca Scamacca and Lois Openda are also options for the attack, but they are rather expensive compared to the 31-year-old.

This past season, Morata bagged 15 goals and assisted an additional three for Atletico Madrid.
