Tuttosport: Milan have three alternatives as Leipzig star edges closer to Arsenal

AC Milan are looking for a new centre-back on the transfer market. In recent years, Alessio Romagnoli has been the only constant figure in the defence and now he needs a long-term partner.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by Milanlive.it, the Rossoneri have three alternatives on their wish list as Arsenal are closing in on Dayot Upamecano. The Frenchman’s contract will expire next year and RB Leipzig want to cash in before it’s too late.

Kristoffer Ajer, Tanguy Kouassi and Nikola Milenkovic are the names on Milan and Ralf Rangnick’s list. For the latter two, contacts have already been initiated while the Celtic star’s situation is being monitored.

Kouassi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire soon and the French side are working on a renewal. Should they fail to reach an agreement, then Milan would be ready to pounce on the opportunity.

In short, alternatives aren’t lacking at all. It will be up to Milan and their transfer strategy to decide the best player to combine with Romagnoli.
