Tuttosport: Milan’s probable XI for Spurs clash – duo returns; Thiaw to start

AC Milan are currently gearing up to take on Tottenham in the Champions League Round of 16. After the win against Torino, the Rossoneri will be heading into the clash with at least some confidence.

It has been a tough year for Milan thus far but the hope is that they can continue on a positive path after the win against Torino. On Tuesday, however, they will face tough opposition in the shape of Tottenham.

According to Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.com), Stefano Pioli is expected to continue with a three-man backline but it’s not certain if it will be a 3-4-1-2 or a 3-5-2. Ismael Bennacer and Fikayo Tomori will be back, which is a huge boost, and they should start.

On the right flank, Pioli will have to decide between Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers. The latter did well against Torino and might be slightly ahead at the moment, even if the manager often favours Calabria.

Up front, Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao will start again given their importance and the only question mark is the attacking midfielder role. Instead of Brahim Diaz, Rade Krunic could be the chosen one as he would be able to alternate with Sandfro Tonali, who likes to move forward at times.

Probable Milan XI (3-4-1-2): Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Tomori, Thiaw; Saelemaekers (Calabria), Bennacer, Tonali, Hernandez; Krunic; Giroud, Leao.
