Victoria Beckham reveals why she was ‘really upset’ when David joined AC Milan

David Beckham’s wife Victoria Beckham has admitted that she was ‘shocked’ and ‘really upset’ when her husband revealed he was heading for AC Milan.

Beckham’s spent most of his career with Manchester United, where he made his first-team debut in 1992 at age 17 and won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice and the Champions League in 1999.

He then played four seasons with Real Madrid and in 2007 he signed a five-year contract with Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy. While a Galaxy player, he spent two loan spells in Italy with Milan in 2009 and 2010.

The Daily Mirror have relayed a segment of David Beckham’s Netflix documentary ‘Beckham’ in which his wife Victoria gave some interesting background on her husband’s transfer to Milan.

The Beckhams had been living in Los Angeles following David’s move to the LA Galaxy in 2007 and Victoria was unhappy at the prospect of the family having to move halfway across the world to Italy after just relocating.

“What do you mean, you wanna go to Milan? We’ve just moved from one side of the world to the other for you,” she said.

“What I signed up for was us being in LA as a family, so I didn’t expect to turn up in LA, have everything perfect, and then he go, ‘Oh guess what, surprise! I’m going away again’. I respected his career, I always have done immensely, but not again. I was really upset.”

Beckham’s loan spell in Milan went well and he quickly became a fan favourite, even coming back for a second spell that was unfortunately cut short by an Achilles injury.
