Watch: Milan loanee Colombo scores nice goal in debut for Empoli

Lorenzo Colombo goal Empoli

AC Milan loanee Lorenzo Colombo managed to find the back of the net on his debut for Empoli, who prevailed 4-1 against Catanzaro in the Coppa Italia. The youngster thus picked up where he left off during the US pre-season tour.

Colombo spent most of the pre-season with Milan, scoring a brace against Man City, and he then left the US tour to complete a move to Empoli. Paulo Fonseca asked for more time with the youngster, as we were first to reveal, but in the end they couldn’t stand in his way.

Last week, the move was made official and it’s a loan with an option to buy. It’s also believed that Milan have a buy-back clause. In any case, Colombo got off to the best possible start as he scored a nice goal in yesterday’s Coppa Italia clash.

No one has ever doubted his qualities and potential, but consistency has been lacking in the last few seasons and Milan are hoping that he will find that this time around. “My desire for revenge is very high. Last season did not end in the best of ways and this can clearly be an opportunity for me,” the youngster himself stated.
