Watch: Milan seal win against Venezia as own-goal from Jashari shot makes it 2-0

AC Milan established a bit of breathing room right at the end of their home game against Venezia, thanks to an own-goal.

Goncalo Ramos broke the deadlock inside the final half-hour with a lovely finish, then the game was put to bed in the 89th minute with a little help from the away side.

It came from quality play at speed though. Ramos laid one off to Saelemaekers who found Jashari’s run in behind. The Swiss had acres of space but hit his shot at Stankovic, yet the save then hit Halhal and flew into the unguarded net.

At least the 74,000 fans at San Siro could breathe easy as Milan ensured that they would take maximum points from their first two games in a campaign.

  1. Jashari decided the best way to pass the ball to the striker was to use the Venezia defender’s foot to ensure it went into the net!
Jashari clever movement and daring forays into the danger zone forced the defender into a mistake. Own goals don’t happen by chance they’re the result of sustained pressure.
