After two games with four points clinched, as well as two clean sheets held, many were hoping that today’s game against Sassuolo could be a proper turning point for Milan. Instead, it turned out to be a really poor afternoon for the Rossoneri, who are now at risk in the Champions League race.
The home side opened the scoring early, and after Fikayo Tomori received a second yellow, the mountain became too steep to climb for Massimiliano Allegri’s men. Several subs in the second half didn’t help the matter, as Sassuolo pretty much cruised to victory.
After the final whistle, the players headed towards the away end to thank Curva Sud for their support throughout the game, as the fans never stopped singing. However, after being met with boos and jeers, Mike Maignan quickly led his players towards the tunnel.
