AC Milan have decided that they will not sign Kyle Walker on a permanent deal, so he will return to Manchester City now the season is over.
Calciomercato.com confirm Walker’s adventure at Milan is coming to an end after just six months at the club. The new sporting director Igli Tare is beginning to make decisions on various players, and has already made his mind up about the defender.

The Englishman will therefore return to Manchester even if – as Pep Guardiola has made clear – he is not part of the club’s plans and will therefore pack his bags again and head to another club.
Why Walker will not be bought
Having arrived in the winter transfer window, the former Tottenham player had started off on the right foot and promised to bring experience and physicality to a department in great difficulty.
Walker of course had to quickly adapt to a new country, and some injuries (including a fractured elbow) did not help, but the feeling is that his Milan adventure never really got fully going.
Despite the switch to a three-man defence, in theory suited to his characteristics, the Englishman found his starting spot taken by Fikayo Tomori (right centre-back) and Alex Jimenez (wing-back).
The decision not to use the buy-out option is because of his performances but also his age and the costs involved, in terms of the transfer fee of €5m and the salary he would earn. The funds will be allocated to other objectives.
Lol and the experts here were talking how we were going to see what a real full back is… Turns out he did no better than Calabria. In general it turns out most people here have unrealistic expectations thinking that full backs need to somehow magically stop every attack that goes thru their side all by themself.
