CorSport: Zlatan preparing for grand return – Inter, Napoli and Spurs are in his sights

January is approaching and that means so is Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to the field, with the striker closing in on making his full return.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that the Swede set 2023 as his target to return from the day after the knee operation he underwent in May. At the age of 41, Ibra dreams of returning to the field with Milan to help them cut the gap to Napoli and to try and beat Spurs in the Champions League last 16.

That is why Ibrahimovic will leave with the squad for Dubai in mid-December along with those not involved in the World Cup in Qatar. The group will be in the Emirates from 11 to 20 December to carry out a training camp in preparation for the resumptions of the season.

The Swede will be together with his team-mates and is planning an increase in workloads, which is the beginning of his journey towards his official return to the pitch. He is hoping to be back for the Supercoppa Italiana against Inter in Saudi Arabia in mid-January, or at the latest by the end of that month for the league derby.

Currently, the former PSG and Manchester United man just wants to get back on the pitch and he has Napoli and Tottenham in his sights. His experience and daily presence in the dressing room, as well as his contribution on the pitch, will be decisive in the Scudetto battle and in the duel with Conte’s Spurs in February/March.
