Bild: Bayern Munich’s transfer shortlist includes ‘unnamed Milan defender’

By Isak Möller -

Bayern Munich are aiming to reinforce their defensive between now and the summer, with around six names on their wish list. An AC Milan defender is one of them, per a report, but the name has not been revealed yet.

Milan have been struggling with many injuries this season and in recent weeks, there has been a noticeable crisis in the defensive department. The likes of Pierre Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino and Malick Thiaw are all on the sidelines, with Fikayo Tomori being the only constant.

According to the German outlet, as cited by @iMiaSanMia on X, Bayern Munich have set their sights on an ‘unnamed Milan defender’. In addition to five other targets, this player is on their defensive shortlist for January and the summer.

Most of the targets, as the report states, will be difficult to sign in January and the German side could thus prepare a more serious attempt in the summer. With the player’s name yet to be revealed, it’s difficult to say what this means for Milan.

Malick Thiaw is a good shout, having impressed with the German national team, but Theo Hernandez has also been linked with Bayern Munich in the past. We will simply have to wait and see which player it is.

  1. It’s Pellegrino, clearly.

In all seriousness, unless it is Theo and they offer 80-100m for him, which would allow us to bring in a replacement AND a CB, nothing will happen in January given our own defensive crisis.

    1. Who’s gonna replace Theo if he got sold? I mean, with the same quality and experience like him. And please don’t say one of the primavera kids.

        1. Ballo Toure should never play in tjoa side again. Lets face it. All players we loaned out should have been permanent exits. Waste of roster space

  2. The most recent player that Bayern have actively shown interest in which these guys have clearly forgotten is Kalulu. He was on their radar last transfer window, and they were trying for him. Might be coming back to complete the move considering his injury.

  3. Trying to get Thiaw at a discount is sneaky. But he is way too good. anything below 80 would be disappointing…he has the characteristics of a modern cb, fast, strong tall comfortable on the ball. Teams will pay a lot for that, dont take the first offer. Follow the pep, if hes loading up on multipurpose defenders, everyone else is right behind. CB values will rise significantly.
