Alessio Romagnoli is a key player for AC Milan. After a summer assault by Chelsea, Milan’s position remains the same: the Italian national team player is not sellable.
Vincenzo Montella believes in Romagnoli and he was also behind Milan’s decision to reject Chelsea’s €35million+ summer offer.
Conte’s Chelsea are doing very well and owner Roman Abramovich is ready to make some key investments in this coming January transfer window. Romagnoli remains to be a Chelsea target and they will make another attempt for him soon. They want to formulate an offer in excess of €45million for him but Milan do not want to sell him.
Romagnoli’s current deal expires in 2020 and Milan are considering giving him a contract extension (probably to be discussed next year). It now looks certain that Milan won’t let Romagnoli leave in January even if Chelsea will give it another go.
