CM: Musah sends important message to Pioli – his versatility could be key

By Isak Möller -

Yunus Musah made his first start for AC Milan in the 1-0 win against Hellas Verona yesterday afternoon. The American was one of the better players and sent an important message to Stefano Pioli.

The Rossoneri clinched three very important points underneath the floodlights at San Siro, despite making some heavy rotation. Musah got his first chance from start and did well overall, not afraid to get stuck in.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Musah sent an important message to Pioli with his performance against Verona. Playing as the right wing-back, the American ran constantly and also wasn’t afraid to take on his man when in possession.

Sometimes he lacked the technique needed, but he made up for it with very hard work. It’s clear that his ability to play where the manager needs him could be crucial this season, especially given the hectic schedule.

As the report concludes, he’s still a rough talent and needs more time to fully adapt, but for just €18m plus bonuses Milan have themselves a wildcard in the midfield.

    1. Neither was Kessie, he couldn’t play in a double pivot, he can develop. People seem to forget players can adapt, they forget when we got Pirlo he was a CAM, we turned him into a regista, same goes for so many other players of ours.

      1. Brah the double pivot work exactly becasue of Ke$$ie. He was literally born to play there. Its his ideal position.
And Pirlo is Pirlo. Dont go talking about one of the best midfielder Italy has ever produced as an example of what a player can do..
And yes players can develop. Seems like Musah is going to develop into a wingback

    2. Hah. Turtle is so scared someone might replace his boy Krunic. Musah has all the tools to play DM as well or better than Krunic if that’s where the team needs him. He’s played a deeper role for the U.S. team at times.

  1. I don’t understand these articles trying to make Musa seem like he has less experience than the other players on this team, dude played all matches for Valencia last season and has a higher National Cap than most players in Milan. Pioli just lacks technical versatility and is a poor manger of players that’s what will hold this team back.

  2. He got lucky coz other player get injured..that why he started..pioli never rotated his player..how many official game we already played?how many player pioli used?
