Yet another source have claimed that AC Milan sent a scout to watch Jota Silva in action during a game in Portuguese earlier in the week.
Portuguese source O Jogo reported yesterday that Milan had an emissary on hand at Vitória Guimarães’ fixture against Arouca on Monday night to watch winger Jota Silva.
The 24-year-old is attracting the interest of clubs across Europe thanks to his numbers, with eight goals and four assists amassed, including a goal in the game that the Milan scout was at.
According to what is being reported by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri did indeed have someone on hand to watch the winger score his eighth goal of the season.
His contract expires in a year and a half, so he could be an opportunity especially for the coming summer transfer window when his price might decline a bit given he will have 12 months left on his deal in June.
The big obstacle is the number of other teams that are admirers of Silva, which includes – among others – Villarreal, Wolverhampton, Toulouse, Nantes and OGC Nice.
O Jogo did state that he has a €20m release clause and that the Portuguese club have a ‘weak financial situation’ that makes January sales more likely, even if they wish to keep Silva.
