CorSport: Pioli has two doubts to resolve ahead of trip to face Lazio

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has a couple of doubts to iron out regarding the team that will face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow night, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the team obvious starts with Mike Maignan is in goal, despite the fact he is not having an extraordinary moment of form.

In defence, there is a battle between Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Calabria for the right-back spot. The captain has been out injured, but came on in the second half of the Atalanta game and hopes to start. Malick Thiaw, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernández will complete the department.

In the midfielder, Ismaël Bennacer will certainly be a starter but the question then is who will play alongside him. The paper believes that Tijjani Reijnders is in a duel with Yacine Adli and the Dutchman’s chances of starting are rising.

Up front, Ruben-Loftus-Cheek will act as the usual ‘tactical’ attacking midfielder, while Christian Pulisic will be on the right, Rafael Leão on the left and Olivier Giroud in the centre-forward role given Luka Jovic’s suspension.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria (Florenzi), Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernández; Reijnders (Adli), Bennacer; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leão; Giroud.

Bench: Sportiello, Mirante, Florenzi (Calabria), Kalulu, Kjær, Tomori, Adli (Reijnders), Musah, Terracciano, Chukwueze, Okafor.
