CorSport: Real Madrid could keep loanee regardless of Milan’s intentions

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz has picked himself up after some rocky performances and has cemented his spot in the AC Milan starting XI. His future isn’t as clear but Real Madrid could decide to keep him, a report claims.

The Spaniard had a really good period prior to the World Cup break but, as always with him, it has been up and down since. He has seemingly found form again, though, improving in the 3-4-3 Milan are currently using.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the two-year loan will expire in the summer and there is no clause, but rather a gentleman’s agreement to sit down and talk. However, Real Madrid are now considering keeping the player.

This could make things very difficult for Milan in the negotiations as they aim to lower the initial assessment of €22m. The relations between the two clubs are excellent but it might not be enough if the Bernabeu side want to keep Diaz and given him a real chance next season.

  1. Real Madrid taking him back to spain is the best move for pioli’s own good, he has this allegiance to certain players who are consistently inconsistent…why spend 20m to buy an inconsistent AM who plays decently once in two months when they have a limited budget of around 50m, spent 35mil to buy another AM(sort of) last summer, while other positions which are more need to be solved? It doesn’t make sense to me but hey… Pioli and Maldini know best and they never make mistakes
