Di Marzio: Higuain-Caldara-Bonucci deal nearing finish line

By Claudio Perfetto -

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that an operation that will see Leonardo Bonucci return to Juventus with Mattia Caldara and Gonzalo Higuain joining AC Milan is nearing the finish line.

The clubs have had a total agreement for days: a straight swap between Bonucci and Caldara while Higuain will leave Juventus on a paid loan of 18 million euros with an option to purchase for 36 million.

Yesterday, there was a bit of a hiccup in the dealings as it was reported that Gonzalo Higuain was not totally convinced by the formula of his transfer. In addition, Higuain also wanted an increase to his current wages, which are 7.5 million euros per season.

Di Marzio is now reporting that this setback has been overcome and representatives of all sides are currently in Milan where they are scheduled to have meetings today. The goal of the meetings is to complete the transfer today. There is optimism from all sides that this could happen.
