Donnarumma, Romagnoli and Tonali back at Milanello today for Italy training

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma, Alessio Romagnoli and Sandro Tonali will be back at Milanello this afternoon for a training session with the Italian national team. In fact, Luciano Spalletti’s men will train there both today and tomorrow.

Italy only managed a 1-1 draw against North Macedonia last night and have some work to do on the training ground. Today and tomorrow, they will be working at Milanello ahead of their game against Ukraine on Tuesday.

The former Milan men Donnarumma, Romagnoli and Tonali will thus return to their former home. The Rossoneri will also face Donnarumma and Tonali in the Champions League this season, taking on PSG and Newcastle respectively.

In the meantime, Stefano Pioli’s men are enjoying a few days off as they will resume training at Milanello on Tuesday. Of course, a majority of the first team is currently on international duty and will thus not get any rest.

    1. Logic says you are trolling but I am afraid you are not.
Lazy Romagnoli, midtablers’ captain, was not even a starter 3 years ago, was benched rightly by 20yr old, 100% inexperienced (at that time) Kalulu. But you miss him.

      1. Romagnoli had a lot of injuries the last couple seasons at Milan, which was the main reason why he lost his starting spot to Kalulu.
And from the 3 players mentioned he’d be the most needed on this current team than the other 2.
Milan has Maignan instead of Donnarumma, and has Reijnders, RLC, Musah and even Pobega in Tonali’s position. While at the same time Milan has “turnstile” Tomori and the fossil Kjaer in Romagnoli’s position.
So , no trolling. I’m taking Romagnoli over the other 2 on this current Milan team

        1. No man. Romagnoli even made Kjaer show his class : to stop the opponent’s attacks so much better than him. And look at Kjaer now : the 4th choice CB, if we include Kalulu as CB (He is RB deputy, though).

So if Romagnoli back to Milan, he will only like Caldara : last choice CB and to fill Nation-growth regulation.

AC Milan changed very so much since 2019-2020, man. So key players from 2019-2020 gradually lose his spot. Look at Saelemaekers now : A surplus requirment that we have sold. Saelemaekers was our starting RW at 2019-2020, and valued at 20m euros.

In this 3 serie-a matches, we even sae Tomori losing his quality, compared to Thiaw. Tomori was our best CB, 1-2 years ago.

Our Milan growing so fast, bro.

      2. He’s our former captain and was one of our best players including when he played nearly every game in 19/20 which was a crucial season in transforming the team to a competitive team.

That season laid the foundations for our return to the champions league and subsequent title win.

He now plays for a team that finished 2nd in the table.

So how exactly is 2nd “mid table”?

The question is again how did a player who once did well stop doing well?

The same question now needs to be asked of
        Kalulu.

We can’t keep losing players or else we’ll never build a long term project which is essential if we are too return to being a top team.

    2. Romagnoli is a good defender, unfortunately he had trouble playing in Pioli’s high defensive line system. Moving to Lazio is a good solution for him, especially as he is a Laziale.
