Florenzi ready to step up for Milan against Juve amid Theo’s suspension

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Florenzi is set to play from start in the big clash between AC Milan and Juventus after the break. Theo Hernandez is suspended and will be unavailable, hence this change to the starting XI.

Hernandez picked up a very unnecessary yellow card in the 1-0 win against Genoa, and it was his fifth of the season. He will thus have to watch the game against Juventus from the stands, which is far from ideal for Milan.

Florenzi, who has made eight appearances this season (three from start) is ready to replace the Frenchman. He will have a lot of time to work in the position at Milanello, seeing as he’s not on international duty with Italy.

The veteran also played on the left-hand side against Hellas Verona, but Milan used a three-man backline in that game. This time out, and as we saw a few times last season, he will have to take on all of the responsibilities of Hernandez.
