GdS: Leao’s return to Milanello imminent after treatment at home – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Rafael Leao sustained a hamstring injury in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw against Lecce and he’s at risk of missing the game against Borussia Dortmund. Today or tomorrow, as a report claims, he will be back at work at Milanello.

The Portuguese winger had to withdraw from the Lecce cash after just ten minutes, pulling his hamstring after a sprint. Milan later confirmed that he sustained a first-degree hamstring injury, which puts him at risk of missing the Dortmund game.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Leao has been receiving treatment at home for his injury and has not been at Milanello lately. However, he will be back at the training ground either today or tomorrow, where he will continue an individual program.

At the start of next week, as the report concludes, he will undergo tests to determine his recovery so far. Those tests will likely decide his fate regarding the game against Dortmund, which is a crucial one for the Rossoneri.

Noah Okafor will likely replace Leao against the German side, while Christian Pulisic should move to the left for the game against Fiorentina. In any case, the timing of Leao’s injury is certainly not idea, given how important the UCL clash is.
