GdS: Pioli abandons rotation as Milan stars must shine against Lazio

By Isak Möller -

After making significant rotation for the mid-week lash against Cremonese, which ended 1-1, Stefano Pioli will bet on the stars of AC Milan once again. They will certainly be needed, as the Rossoneri will face Lazio today.

The draw against Cremonese was yet another disappointing risk and Champions League qualification has never been in more danger this season. A strong performance will thus be needed against Lazio this afternoon.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), there will be no rotation for this one and Milan will have no excuses for the outcome. The only exception from the ‘strongest XI’ is Junior Messias, who will replace Brahim Diaz in the attacking trio.

In the last few weeks, as the newspaper continues, there are two players that have stood out: Simon Kjaer and Rafael Leao. The Dane has ensured great stability at the back, and Milan have only lost two games with him on the pitch. As for the Portuguese winger, his importance is obvious.
