Olivier Giroud wasted no time as he scored his first goal for Milan just a few minutes after coming off the bench. In other words, it was the perfect debut for the Frenchman, who has been heavily praised since.
As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Giroud has already shown what he can add to this team. Coming on in the second half, he immediately made the most of what he had to work with, scoring the important equaliser with his head.
The acclimatisation period, therefore, seemed non-existent as he immediately was a natural leader for Milan. He has only been with the team for a few days and his start has shocked the Rossoneri, that’s for sure.
It was money well spent, as the newspaper continues, for the Frenchman who – in his long career – has always shown that he can work for the team and adapt to different situations. Perhaps we will see him alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front.
