Longo: Milan’s probable XI for Verona – Krunic to be rested; Okafor up front

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Hellas Verona tomorrow and after the draw against Newcastle, they will be looking to get back to winning ways. As a result of the tight schedule, Stefano Pioli will make quite a few XI changes.

The Rossoneri pölayed Newcastle on Tuesday and will be back in action tomorrow, taking on Verona at San Siro. Four days later, they will face Cagliari away from home ahead of the big game against Lazio next weekend.

In short, the schedule is tight and Pioli will plan accordingly. As per Daniele Longo, the manager could make eight changes to the XI for tomorrow’s clash. Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Florenzi could both get the chance at the back, with the latter starting on the left.

In midfield, Rade Krunic could finally get his rest as Pioli has tested Tijjani Reijnders in that role. Yunus Musah and Tommaso Ppobega would thus team up with the Dutchman, who started on the bench against Newcastle.

Up front, Noha Okafor could replace Olivier Giroud, while Christian Pulisic should get his spot back on the right flank.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Sportiello; Calabria, Kjaer (Thiaw), Tomori, Florenzi; Musah, Rejinders (Krunic), Pobega; Pulisic, Okafor (Giroud), Leao.

  1. Why can’t you bench leao and switch pulisic there and start chukwueze. Why can’t you play pallegrino at left back and switch Florenzi to RB and bench Calabria. Simple!!

    1. Must there be complaints all the time? If he rests Leao and it doesn’t work still everyone will be asking “why is he resting Leao, why should he rest Leao in such match, is it that Leao can’t play 6 straight matches.”

Everything becomes a problem for this Milan fans.
      This is becoming too much.

If he makes the changes u all wants and it doesn’t work yet one man will take the blame and criticism.

He’s benching Krunic now like everyone wanted yet it’s still a problem.

The issue now has shifted to Leao.
      Amazing 👏

  2. Why can’t Mr. Pioli start Bartesaghi at left and Pellegrino to partner Tomori. Pulisic at left, Chukwueze at Right and Okafor top strike. Let Leao get some rest as well.

  3. Okafor for Leao and Jovic for Giroud please for the start!
Giroud can’t start all the games, its just impossible.
Bench Leao! His laziness, his ‘i dont care’ attitude, time wasting winger, like a little child. I’m sick of watching him play.

    1. Then go to the gutter.
You can be suck of watching him play but yet every season he’s Milan best with amazing stats.

Milan fans have issues, big issues.
U can go and replace him mate no hate.

What u all do is appreciate the players of other teams yet when they come to Milan u all criticise and criticise them.
Leao has shown constant growth since his arrival from Lille yet he’s not appreciated.
      Stats doesn’t lie anyway.

      1. You can also ignore my comment and live in North Korea man, where people can’t have there own opinion.
Also, I didnt ask to comment on my comment nor your opinion.

  4. I don’t really know what this fans wants, bench Krunic now he’s about to bench Krunic, Leao is now the problem, rest Theo Hernandez, now he’s about to rest Theo Hernandez and start Florenzi, playing Pelegrino in Theo Hernandez absence is now the new problem.

    I don’t get it.
Seems everyone here has issues with Leao, Calabria, Florenzi, Kjaer or something 🤔 yet when they leave like Sandro Tonali did all of a sudden they become loved by the same set of ungrateful fans that wanted then to leave.

I can remember how Tonali was dragged by over 80% of fans here last season after every single match now what’s happening.

    1. I read through these comment sections and I’m always shocked at how smooth brained people these “fans” are, flip flopping on a weekly basis, acting like they know anything about working in a football club. The same people comment on every article and talk absolute nonsense, all they do is ruin their own time by taking it all too seriously.

  5. I do think Leao should be rested. Nothing about current form or the last match, but we do need to rest players – and not all at once like last year. This should be one of our simpler games so going with Okafor, Jovic and Pulisic/Chuckweze, seems like a good idea. Three of these players need pitch time.

Our bench is better now, so we should be rotating more.

  6. This just exposes our weakness at FB rotations. Inter see these as a weapon, Pioli seems to view them as an afterthought. I think we missed a trick bringing Singo (who is now a BW at Monaco)

  7. Flo as a replacement for Calabria, maybe. But as a replacement for Theo??? That’s next level crazy. If we’re gonna gamble, then gamble with the next generation – throw Bartesaghi in.

Musah, Adli, Reijnders would be interesting, as will Leao Okafor partnership.
