Mediaset: Milan and Demiral pushing for late move – opening from Al-Ahli needed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will keep trying until the end of the window to sign a defender and Merih Demiral is the name they are focusing on at the moment, according to a report.

There is just over 48 hours of the January transfer window left and Milan are still working to try to give Stefano Pioli a new central defender.

According to what Claudio Raimondi told SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the hottest name at the moment is that of Demiral who currently played in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ahli.

The Rossoneri are trying in every way and the player is also pushing for a return to Italy where he has already played before for Sassuolo, Atalanta and Juventus.

The problem, however, is the salary of the Turkish defender who currently earns €13m net per season at Al-Ahli, which means an opening from the Arab club is needed for things to accelerate.

The other options are Jakub Kiwior of Arsenal and Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea but at the moment these options are also blocked for different reasons.

Regarding Kiwior, the Gunners are not open to a loan formule, and then for Chalobah there are doubts about his physical condition.

  1. It’s just so greedy. Go to Arabia for an unrealistic inflated salary (13m NET!!!). Hate it because, well you’re in the middle of the desert in a nowhere league. Want out after 6 months or a year, but unwilling reduce the unrealistic inflated salary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    1. The Saudi club pays his salary. That means Saudi club must pay big percentage of his salary to player and then release him to Milan for some fee.

Demiral is nonsense story for Milan. That player decided to go for enormous salary in Saudi and he can go from there if they decide to sell him for small fee.

    1. Stop typing so fast 😆 🤣 😂

No seriously I agree, it’s f(***ing annoying! Not sure what this feature accomplishes does it stop bots?

  2. They seem to go for targets they know won’t land so they can justify not making purchases. How do they think in 48 hrs they can convince a club with more money than they know how to spend to give us a player and make them pay to transfer him? This is unrealistic and a waste of time. Anyone with half a brain could tell you that this will not pan out. Another example of incompetence at it’s finest.

  3. 6 clubs in his last 6 seasons?
He must really like those signing bonuses (who wouldn’t)

I remember him being promissing in Sassuolo and then dissapointing in Juve. Didn’t really follow how he did in Atalanta his last 2 years.
