Mediaset: PSG and Real Madrid to pounce as Donnarumma faces uncertain future

By Isak Möller -

Just like in 2017, we can expect it to be a hot summer for Gigio Donnarumma, as his contract with Milan will expire in 2021. So far, there has been no major progress in the renewal talks, fueling rumours of a potential exit.

According to reports from SportMediaset (via MilanNews.it), in addition to several English clubs, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also interested in the young goalkeeper. In the summer, these could take advantage of the situation.

Until recently, agent Mino Raiola was dealing with Paolo Maldini and Zvone Boban for his Milan clients. However, now he will have to sit down with CEO Ivan Gazidis instead, and sparks are expected during the meeting.

To stay at Milan, Donnarumma is asking for an increase to €6m-a-year-deal. Furthermore, he wants more clarity on the project for the future, as the Rossoneri are heading for the umpteenth revolution.

Gazidis, meanwhile, is keen on implementing a salary cap of around €2-2.5m. In addition to that, their plan wouldn’t include many big names, which is why this summer most likely will be another hot one for the goalkeeper.
