Milan mayor Sala expresses delusion with stadium project: “I will succeed”

By Isak Möller -

The Milan mayor Beppe Sala has been on a media campaign in the last few weeks to raise awareness for the San Siro renovation project. However, despite Gerry Cardinale confirming the San Donato stadium, Sala continues to make delusional statements.

The San Siro renovation project was announced a few weeks back and Milan immediately made it clear that they are focused on San Donato. Earlier this week, just to rub it in, Cardinale confirmed that the Rossoneri will get a new stadium.

In an interview with Libero, as cited by MilanNews, Beppe Sala was asked about the San Siro project and if he can convince the two clubs. In his words, he believes he will succeed despite Milan making it clear that they want to focus on San Donato.

“Will I be able to convince Milan and Inter? It’s complicated, but I think I will succeed. In light of Cardinale’s statements, next week I will invite Milan, Inter and WeBuild to the same table to verify the clubs’ needs. I want an answer, inside or outside, by June. When could construction? Maximum two or three years from now,” he stated.

It remains to be seen how the saga will end, but the Program Agreement will soon be initiated in San Donato. The idea is to have the stadium ready for the 2028-29 season, which is indeed a realistic target for the Rossoneri.

  1. What a shambles of a first half by milan!!!! Utterly shocking.
If matches are won by the number of back passes and horizontal passes milan would surely be undisputed world club champions ….. what a bore!!!! Pioli out ……

  2. Honestly Politicians are the most dishonest lot, Milan and Inter want a stadium that belongs to them, preferably a stadium for both, but he is still insisting on making them tenants forever, they want to move on, Milan has already purchased land, the best thing for him is to try and convince Inter to stay, or even buy the stadium and renovate, his actions and deeds do not mean well for these clubs, he should have fought hard for them when they wanted to build the stadium in the San siro area, now he wants to sabotage them…

  3. Get a hint dude. Nobody wants to rent a stadium… This is killing italian football.

Sala is a clown trying his hardest to secure another term. Do mayors get more than 2 terms? Anyway im pretty sure the elections are this summer
