Milan Primavera off to a flying start: five wins and 16 goals scored

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan’s Primavera side have started the season in the best way possible with five wins in five games, scoring 16 goals in the process. Ignazio Abate and his boys could be in for a great campaign, in other words.

Last season was the first with the former Milan man Abate as the manager of the Primavera side. They struggled in the league at times but made it all the way to the semi-finals in the UEFA Youth League, impressing everyone in the process.

This time out, Abate has also got the tactics right for the league as Milan have won their first four games. Adding the 4-0 trashing of Newcastle in the UEFA Youth League, they have won 5/5 games, scored 16 goals and conceded just two goals.

There are many talented players in the squad, such as Jan-Carlo Simic, Diego Sia and Francesco Camarda, and if they can continue like this they will certainly be one of the frontrunners for the league title. As things stand, Inter are two points behind in second place.

  1. They’re a young team, too. Younger than their rivals.

A lot has been invested in the Primavera. But Abate still needs to get results.

Now to produce players for the senior team.
