Mirabelli: “We want to keep Suso; we are talking to Romagnoli’s agent”

AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli has insisted that the Rossoneri want to keep Suso beyond the current season.

Mirabelli also confirmed that the club is in talks with defender Alessio Romagnoli over a new deal.

“We want Romagnoli to remain for a long time and we are already talking to his agent. We trust all our players can accompany us for a long while yet,” Mirabelli began.

“That also goes for Suso, as let’s not forget, we are talking about Milan here. All the players in the world would love to wear this jersey.

“We want to keep Suso, but he has to have the same desire. If Suso, or anyone else, no longer wanted to wear this jersey, it’d be only right to take an offer into consideration.”

Suso’s current deal includes a release clause, believed to be around €40million.

“That’s not up to us. I am generally against release clauses, but his agents made a very specific request and so we’re keeping it there. If he wants to go, then he can.”

Reports have suggested that Nikola Kalinic is also available after enduring a difficult spell with Milan so far.

“Nikola is an extraordinary lad and a quality striker,” explained Mirabelli.

“It’s true that he had a few difficulties so far, but Gattuso is his biggest admirer. Nothing happened, he just wants everyone to train to the max, otherwise he won’t call them up. I can guarantee Kalinic is one of the players Gattuso admires the most.”
