MN: Leipzig captain’s move to Milan difficult – the reason and Bayern’s interest

By Nikita Fesyukov -

AC Milan continue observing the transfer market with vigilance but also in a calm and patient manner, awaiting the best opportunities which could, perhaps, emerge in the final days of the summer.

One of the priorities is signing an attacking midfielder, with Marcel Sabitzer being a player observed by Maldini and Massara among other names that include the likes of Josip Ilicic, James Rodriguez or Isco.

The Austrian international’s contract with Red Bull Leipzig expires next summer and he could thus be available for a discount price, with the midfielder determined to continue his career elsewhere.

However, there is one problem that is seriously hindering a potential move, according to Milannews.it, is Sabitzer’s desire to remain in Germany, even though he has not yet definitely decided his future.

In this sense, the interest of Bayern Munich in the 27-year-old must be noted, with former Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann looking to reunite with Sabitzer at the Allianz Arena.
