MN: Pioli gives Milan squad two days off after Sampdoria win

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has decided to give the AC Milan squad two days off after their win against Sampdoria at San Siro last night.

MilanNews writes that after yesterday’s 5-1 victory against Sampdoria, coach Pioli gave the team two days off to recover. The resumption of training in view of the match at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday evening against Juventus is scheduled for Tuesday.

Milan returned to winning ways in the league with a 5-1 victory against an already-relegated Sampdoria side last night. Rafael Leao got the opening goal but Quagliarella equalised, with Olivier Giroud then netting hat-trick and Brahim Diaz scoring too.

The game against Juve next weekend certainly has added meaning, with the Rossoneri still holding onto hopes of finishing inside the top four spots with two matches left.

Max Allegri’s side are also awaiting the verdict of their trial over capital gains, which could see them docked points and thus dropping places.

  1. This shows Pioli sure is a good man manager but pathetic as a coach. You gave them days off because.. they finally did their job that they were supposed to do all season long? Makes NO sense. This wouldn’t fly under any even semi decent manager.

    1. Days off because the players tired and needs rest physically and mentally. They’re humans, NOT robots where you can play freely like in video games.

If the players underperform or injured then morons like you gonna blame Pioli and say why Pioli didn’t give them a day off? Fvckers :/
