AC Milan captain Davide Calabria celebrated his 250th appearance for the club with a victory over Empoli on Sunday. Following the game, he posted a message on his Instagram about the achievement.
As the captain, Calabria is at the heart of everything Milan does, and potentially, he is more vulnerable to criticism because of that. The facts are clear, though, the 27-year-old is, and has been, a great servant to the club for a significant amount of time.
Following the game, he posted this message to his Instagram.
“Today, like the first time, 250 times in Rossoneri.”

Almost a legend already.
By the time he retires (with us, of course, the replace Calabria stuff is nonsense) he will be just below the greats Baresi Maldini etc.
I like Calabria and always did and I hope he stays here for many more years to come but I would nevertheless not call him almost a legend, as I see it its a word reserved for players like cesare and paolo maldini, baresi, van basten, kaka, shewchenko, rivera, norddahl etc. players. On the other hand AC Milan has many club icons but a lot fewer club legends.
Let’s see him lift 4-5 trophies as the captain and maybe then start discussing the legend-thing… 😛
😀 Yeah at the absolute very minimum.
Edit for the one above, made a thought blunder 😀 shevchenko
You’re right, I meant to say icon
No worries its just because I think the word is often tossed around a bit too easily but being a captain and playing 250 matches for the club does indeed also make him a club icon for me.
Calabria aside from seniority within the club, is nowhere near the quality that either Franco or Paolo were on the field…
I still question whether he is captain material.
Yep. He would have remained a primavera product in our good days of Tasso or Cafu. He isn’t even a regular (or irregular) in a very weakened National team.
But here we are. Such is life
Thank you Cala Calabria.
Calabria..Antonini..kinda of italian that must be preserved at whatever cost !!!
Both btw underpar quality as always.
