Pioli claims he and players have ‘always’ had the support of Milan hierarchy

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has said that he and his players have always had the support of the club hierarchy ahead of the match against Sampdoria.

Speaking on Saturday night to Sky Sport (via Milan News) in the build-up to the game, the coach addressed the fact that rumours have been swirling about his future at the club.

He explained that he has never felt like those in charge at the club are questioning him or his players despite it being such a tough season.

“Absolutely, for me and for those of us who are at Milanello it’s normal, we have always had the support of the club and managers, we are together when things go well and when they go less well, without forgetting our fantastic fans,” Pioli explained.

Speaking specifically about this clash which comes right after being knocked out of the Champions League by Inter, Pioli explained that they have wiped their tears away and are focused on the job in hand.

“We have wiped our tears, now we must return to play with the desire to win this game,” Pioli said.

Pioli was asked about the task of motivating the players to face Sampdoria after the midweek disappointment. He explained that they know the whole season comes down to their next three matches.

“We know that a lot of the season will come down to these three games. We have to think only about tonight, playing a very attentive and solid game,” he said.
