Seedorf comments on Ibrahimovic’s return: “It’s not me who needs to be convinced”

By Oliver Fisher -

Clarence Seedorf has commented on the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan and what it will mean for the club moving forward.

In a statement published earlier in the week, RedBird Capital Partners confirmed that Ibrahimovic is back for a third spell at the club. He is their employee officially and will be the Operating Partner across its Sports and Media & Entertainment investment portfolio, but will also serve as a Senior Advisor to AC Milan Ownership and Senior Management.

There is some remarkable symmetry to things as well, given that Ibra’s first comeback was after a league defeat against Atalanta back in 2019, and this time around he returns after a damaging December defeat to La Dea again.

Seedorf spoke to Prime Video before the game against Newcastle United last night at St. James’ Park and he was asked about his former team-mate rejoining Milan, with his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“The information we have seems to me to be all things that we cannot confirm. It is not known exactly what the role will be. Pioli was diplomatic. Zlatan is intelligent, it’s true: everyone will have to be good at finding their place,” he said.

“It’s not me who needs to be convinced, they need to be convinced. They found this agreement, Ibra did it quickly after retiring, he begins this adventure in a new role. I hope that the challenge goes well.”
