TMW: Milan eyeing €20m-rated Almeria talent amid Calabria contract struggles

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter are both interested in signing Almeria defender Marc Pubill in view of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

According to TMW, Inter and Milan are carefully following Pubill in view of the upcoming mercato a defender owned by Almeria who arrived a year ago from Levante, for a fee close to €5m.

This season he has always been the starter on the right side, except for a period of a few weeks of absence due to knee surgery following an injury.

Pubill would cost around €20m, and Inter are following him in the event of the sale of Denzel Dumfries, while Milan are having some difficulties with the renewal of captain Davide Calabria.

It was reported earlier in the week that Calabria is asking for his current salary to be doubled in order to extend his deal at the club and that has made the management pause for reflection, given that he would become one of the top earners at the club.

Pubill meanwhile has made 24 appearances this season for the team that Luka Romero is on loan at, scoring once. He has two caps with Spain’s U21 national team too, and is just 20 years of age.

    1. The joke is the rules set by UEFA which seema to only enforced to selective clubs. Milan currently have a healthier economy and it is great.

But FFP seems to turn blind eye to several clubs that in deep debt like Inter while it was enforced to Milan in the similar situation several years ago.
