Tuttosport: Milan starlet Camarda could receive first senior call-up amid crisis

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will be without Olivier Giroud in the next two games and Luka Jovic has been a disappointing signing so far. Therefore, as highlighted by a report this morning, the Rossoneri starlet Francesco Camarda could receive his first senior call-up.

Camarda has been a huge success for the Primavera at the start of this season, scoring seven goals in all competitions. Three of them have come in the UEFA Youth League, where the 15-year-old is facing players who are much older them him.

The success hasn’t gone unnoticed and several top clubs are monitoring his situation. Milan are expected to renew his contract in March – when it’s legal for them to do so – and Camarda himself is keen on making his first-team debut for the Rossoneri one day.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (see photo below), Camarda could receive his first senior call-up after the international break. Giroud’s suspension, as well as the struggles of Jovic, could force Stefano Pioli to act. Having said that, the youngster would only be used in extreme necessity.

Milan are convinced of Camarda’s qualities and want him to develop at the right pace. Ignazio Abate has done a great job with the striker so far, but it’s only natural that the fans want to see him with the first team.

  1. If he is truly called to first team, he should be used as substitute.

I think Pioli need to give Jovic chance – he showed small glimpse of what he can do but still produce nothing – he need some game time so we can judge him. 2 games is right amount imo – Fiorentina and Frosinone from start will give him some minutes he need to find form and maybe – actually do something. We’ll, I hope…

  2. Camarda is not ready. Good technique, excellent work-ethic, movements, and finishing technique. But a first-team player he is definitely not. Lacks physique.

    1. Well considering his age, I believe his physique haven’t fully develop yet. I don’t expect he can breakthrough a first team player in the next 2 years. But I think playing as substitute in the serie a can grow his mentality

      1. How oldqas dollar rumma and old was nymer when he started with santos
How old was ramsey and jack wilshere
When you have a good coach who develops players the boy will do better

  3. Of course every fan is excited about him and waiting for the day he is ready for 1st team.
He has just made a big step up to Primavera playing v 19yo men and he only 15.
It would seem very premature to pitch him in at a more senior level. The risks outway the reward. He could get hurt. The hype would go stratospheric, which is not fair to a kid, it also will further increase other clubs appetite to buy him.

Just wait until he is signed up on a professional contract and introduce him slowly, preferably in a friendly game.

      1. To be quite honest, his parents/agent should not allow it anyway.
Imagine he got a serious injury before he even had a pro contract.
First thing Milenkovic would do is flatten him

  4. We might not have any choice – Jovic is prone to getting injured in warm-ups. Nothing wrong with putting him on the bench – if nothing else he has the x factor

  5. I think it would be a good thing seeing Barcelona has been blooding their kids young and Zaire Emery was excellent against us and he’s just 17, my worry is Pioli, he always finds a way to screw things up and this kid is a gem. It’s like letting the village idiot drive around in your Ferrari.

  6. He is to be lined up in the first starting 11and he is better than all Current first team strikers
And it will be the first acmilan

  7. Don’t let this boy near the first team pitch before the age of 17/18. His body needs to grow and develop. He is Milan’s jewel. Way too much injury risk with a 15-year old boy getting bullied by 30-year old defenders.

  8. So, injuring the entire first team aint enough and now Pioli wants to make sure our young talents get wrecked with injury too? lol

  9. It’s time to stop coddling them. He’s 15 and turns 16 in March. 4 months won’t make a difference. Yamal and many others are playing at 16 and are doing a good job. Let him get a chance along with guys like eletu, zeroli, scotti and bartesaghi

  10. Just use okafor as striker, pulisic as LW ,samuel as RW. Dont destroy this kid career,he is still 15 years old. He need one more year in academy . He can debut after 16 or 17 years old

  11. Yamal is 16, and playing at senior International level too. Three goals in 17 games for club and country..
I think some on here have caught the Pioli disease..
