Tuttosport: What filters about Theo’s condition and Pioli’s back-up plan

By Oliver Fisher -

Some rather worrying news arrived yesterday evening regarding the condition of Theo Hernandez ahead of tonight’s game against Lazio.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning that an almost complete Milan sqyad will show up tonight at the Olimpico to face Lazio with Fikayo Tomori finally returning.

There is now only one player in the infirmary, namely Tommaso Pobega, who will have to remain out for a few more weeks. The suspended Luka Jovic will also be missing this evening.

The only doubt ahead of the match against the Biancocelesti concerns Theo Hernandez, who is recovering from a blow to his foot that has been bothering him in the last few hours.

If the discomfort has passed by this evening the Frenchman will take to the field from the first minute as planned, otherwise Davide Calabria will be on the right with Alessandro Florenzi moving to the left.

It is not a serious blow and there is a very high chance of seeing Theo in the starting line-up. However, a final decision will be made by Pioli in the build-up to the game, given he is meticulous about having players at 100%.

There is no doubt about the rest of the line-up. Malick Thiaw and Matteo Gabbia are confirmed in front of Mike Maignan, just as Yacine Adli and Ismael Bennacer will be in the double pivot.

Christian Pulisic will act on the right wing, Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the middle and Rafael Leao on the left behind Olivier Giroud.
