For many players in the AC Milan squad, the chance to win the Coppa Italia remains the last real objective before saying goodbye.
As this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports, over the summer many things at Milanello will change and the ‘new Milan’ will be more Italian. Not only in a key role such as that of sporting director, but also with the head coach and in the squad.

The will is to try and move on fully from what has happened in recent months. It has been an incredibly disappointing season with failures across the board in almost every major objective, and yet one remains: the cup.
Conceiçao not giving up
The disappointment, evident in his words after the defeat against Napoli, had disappeared from the mind of the Portuguese coach yesterday, who is keen to finish the season in the best possible way. He is certainly showing the professionalism that everyone recognises in him despite the results obtained.
Conceiçao knows the world of football and, beyond the little time he has had to coach the team due to the many close commitments, he knows that in the league and in the Champions League the group has not done its duty. The logical consequence in these cases is the change of coach.
Sergio would like the defensive errors that have conditioned his adventure with the Rossoneri to disappear definitively as of tomorrow evening. He expressed this hope when speaking with Ibrahimovic and Moncada, who were present at Milanello yesterday afternoon.
He will reiterate it in the dressing room in these hours preceding the fourth derby of the season. If, as is almost certain, he will say goodbye to the Rossoneri at the end of the season, he does not want to have any regrets.
Big changes coming
The choices on the 2025-26 squad will be influenced by the new coach, who of course will be chosen by the incoming sporting director, whomever that might be.

Emerson Royal, who could have left Milanello in January after Kyle Walker’s arrival, did not convince and can leave. The Englishman will most likely be bought from Manchester City. Fikayo Tomori said no to Juve in the winter window, but an offer from the Premier League could make him change his mind.
It will also likely be the end of the road for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze and Filippo Terracciano. Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao are in the balance: for them it will depend on the offers that arrive and on the new coach.
Who will remain? Certainly Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic, but also Santiago Gimenez, Youssouf Fofana, Strahinja Pavlovic, Alex Jimenez, Warren Bondo, Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw plus the youngsters. Yunus Musah can also stay.
Yunus Musah should be the first to be shown the door. If he is kept then he should only be a sub coming on to give some energy. Thats all he is and that is all he will be. I would bring back Saelsmaeker as a sub for Pulisic. I would personally reconstruct the entire defense, with Thiaw, Pavlovic and Tomori all up for sale if a decent offer comes in. We need players who actually understand what it means to play for AC Milan. The Management is definitely responsible for the disgrace of this season. Not the players. From the manner in which Maldini was fired (regardless of his wrongdoings – as he wasnt perfect), to the sale of Tonali, to the worthless acquisitions and last but not least and mainly – not upgrading after Pioli left (when there was a whole roster of worldclass rosters available). This management is an utter disgrace.

Seriously, I thought I was the only Milan fan with sense, but I have met you. You are sensible brother. Musah should be the first person to leave… I really don’t understand what he plays Anytime he is given opportunity.

I still do not understand all the hype around Zlatan in management. what exactly made him a “legend” at Milan? He never won the champions league and does not know how to assemble a UCl team. his “leadership” skills are wanting. he is obviously a slow learner, does not have Milan DNA and his achilles heel is hos big mouth and bloated ego.
I thought je would have beem more circumspect with his utterances and actions, but it clearly shows he was hired to plaster the cracks in fanbase supporter after maldini was fired.
If no one in the top brass is fired for glaring failures in the transfer market and player management, then no one should force the players out for lack of performance either.

Despite listing 3/4 of the squad as “leaving” there’s one thing though: Milan needs to find a club to actually pay for the transfer AND the salary. We’re looking at multiple possible origis here. It’s not given that we’d find a new home for Chuk & RLC etc.
And also, just a week ago they said Florenzi will continue and now he’s not? I bet during this week we’ll read again how “he’ll be given an extension” and the next week it’s “he won’t be give a new contract”.
Getting a whole new team won’t do is any good
Just strengthening the weak spot and give the old players another chance and they will bloom

I believe people can say Pioli did a good job during his time all he needed to make Milan a beast was a young striker proper play maker and a defensive midfielder built Redbird tore everything apart and labeled him a bad coach

Jovic should stay he’s far better than the rest,, the first who should leave is Malick Thiaw what a useless defender.

Musah lacks game intelligence. He reminds me of Origi, get the ball and start blindly running towards the goal. That is not going to change at this point.
