GdS: ‘5 Devilish signings’ – Milan trying for Jashari, Doué, Gutierrez, Leoni and Vlahovic

AC Milan will be busy this summer, and we have seen as much with the arrivals of Samuele Ricci, Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare. But, it is not the end.

There have been three, maybe four, signings made by Milan already this summer. Each brings its own impact to the system, and in turn, raises the hope for next season. However, the Rossoneri are far from done, as Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes.

Further strengthening is needed and desired. In fact, it could start shortly, with Milan expecting an answer from Club Brugge about Ardon Jashari. A final bid was made last week, and he is the next piece of the puzzle hoped to be brought in.

Two new full-backs

Following that, it moves to the full-backs. Theo Hernandez is leaving whilst there is still little clarity on the right. So, the Rossoneri will have to make moves in the wide defensive positions. This morning, a €15m bid for Guela Doue has been rejected, whilst Miguel Gutierrez is liked to replace the Frenchman. There is promise for the future of both, which strengthens the Rossoneri’s interest.

Leoni derby

Sticking in the defence, Giovanni Leoni is a long-term interest, and Milan could look to act this summer. Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw have both been linked away, though the latter is more at risk of leaving this summer.

For this reason, a new defender is a must, and Leoni ticks several boxes. The inclusion of Mattia Liberali in the deal could also make things sweeter for the Diavolo, who are already at peace with the midfielder’s desire to leave.

The striker

Finally, it is the front-line. Milan want and need another striker, to raise the numbers in the squad and in the league. Santiago Gimenez did not completely win over the faith of Massimiliano Allegri since joining, so he hopes for a reinforcement.

Dusan Vlahovic’s name has crept up again, and he is keen to work with Allegri. However, Premier League stars are also being listed as potential options.

  1. Don’t get Vlahovic he got one of the biggest wages in the league and Santi is a quality striker but I understand stand why Milan want a other striker couse of Santis injury history but we don’t need a striker with the wages of Puli and Leao combined who don’t can score 20 goals

    1. He has the biggest wage in Serie A – I have friends supporting Juve (strange, I know) and they all want Vlahovic out. He is not exactly a player extraordinaire per se. Although I find the rumors about Nunez and Nickolas Jackson even more entertaining. I do want to give Tare & Allegri the support they deserve, but I hope these rumors will remain just that, rumors. Same for Zinchencko…

      1. Literally the three most average strikers in the world today and we’re linked to all three of them. Hilarious.

  2. Dodo, Leoni, Jashari, Vlahovic and for LB Robertson/Gutierrez/Brown (all 3 have their own issues a bit past his prime, too attacking, too inexperienced)

  3. Or maybe do not invest in fullbacks. Swich to 3-5-2 with salemakers and jimenez as wing backs. It will be difficult to sign two quality fullbacks within our remaining budged, especially that we passed on Jovic and Tammy and now we have to invest in a striker.

    1. even then, we cant play them every game for a full 90 min. Barthesagui and Royal arent ready (or suited) to those roles.

      1. Why not? We do not have any European football, we will be playing once a week. Every pro player should be able to play once a week the full game. Someone can cover in case of injury. Besides Theo was playing for years withouth a proper back up.
