AC Milan have had the most effective defence in Serie A this year so far, a report has revealed.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport notes, the Rossoneri have conceded just 17 goals this calendar year, and no team in Italy has conceded less in the league.
Aside from the derby against Inter in the second half of last season, Milan have not conceded more than two goals since the turn of 2019.
In addition to that, they have kept nine clean sheets in 20 games in that period, one of which came this season in the 1-0 win over Brescia last time out in Serie A.
The report adds that Marco Giampaolo ‘will be happy to work from this base’ as he likes to build his teams from the back.
Meanwhile, captain Alessio Romagnoli can use the statistic as a point of reference for why he is more than worthy of a spot in Roberto Mancini’s back four for the national team.
