A Bola: Juventus want Sporting CP star – Milan, Arsenal and Man Utd have made enquiries

AC Milan are one of the teams in the running to land Sporting CP left-back Nuno Mendes but they face competition from Europe’s elite, a report claims.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com – which cites Portuguese news outlet A Bola – Juventus have now set their sights on Mendes and the player is on the shortlist of Fabio Paratici.

It will be difficult for Juve or any interested club to land him in the January window and is therefore more likely that an attempt could materialise next summer, but not without difficulty.

The competition for Nuno Mendes is intense and fierce, as the Premier League trio of Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have already made enquiries.

Not only that though, but Juve’s rivals Milan are in the race as sporting director Ricky Massara is a big admirer of the 18-year-old and has already had contacts with Sporting and with the entourage of the player.

The defender recently renewed his deal, but Sporting want to apply a release clause of €70million so they are protected from the advances of top club.
