MN: Milan accelerate contacts with Spurs over loan with option deal for academy product

Another reliable source have confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing centre-back Japhet Tanganga from Spurs.

The Rossoneri missed out on Sven Botman who decided to join Newcastle United, and MilanNews report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have changed their strategy regarding a defensive signing by opting for a loan with option to buy deal.

In the last few hours contacts with Tottenham have intensified for Tanganga. The 23-year-old has given his approval to the idea of joining Milan and in the next few hours the operation could be accelerated to the point of it being a done deal.

There are some things to resolve, such as the fact Tanganga would occupy a non-EU slot in the squad, but Milan seem keen to bet on him just as they did with Fikayo Tomori who joined on an initial loan from Chelsea. He would also join Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia as the central defenders at Pioli’s disposal.
