MN: Why Milan are confident they can still beat PSG to Renato Sanches

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain confident that they can sign Renato Sanches before the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

MilanNews report how Milan found an agreement with the player and Lille at the beginning of June, but everything has not yet been concluded due to the competition of Paris Saint-Germain. During the presentation of new coach Paulo Fonseca, Olivier Letang – the president of Lille – confirmed that the future of Sanches will be either in Paris or Milan.

The situation is therefore quite clear: Renato Sanches wants to leave Lille and there are two clubs who want him. However, PSG have not yet offered Les Dogues a bid they are willing to accept, while the Rossoneri have been firm on their position since the beginning of June and are waiting with confidence.

Unlike the Sven Botman saga, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara believe the Portugal international could get tired of waiting for the Parisians and would then choose the Rossoneri.

  1. We are not even a first choose and he’s not even that good. Bring Pobega in, he’s class and a beast, also good for national team

  2. Definitely abandon this planned purchase. According to reportages, he doesn’t even want to be at Milan. Why not just give the space to Pobega.

  3. Why Maldini and Massara are so keen on bringing a guy that clearly showed that we are the second option for him,i can already see how this is going to go if we sign him is going to get more then 4m euros per year plays some games gets injured and stays out for months! And if we sign him we are going to have more problems renewing Bennacer contract wich by the looks of it is already asking more then Milan is offering so signing R.Sanches for 4/4.5 m per year is gonna make Bennacer ask for moree then he already is asking! So moral of the history we dont need R.Ranches!

  4. I don’t care if Milan is Renato’s 1st or 2nd choice. If there is a chance to bring him in then you bring him in. Healthy he elevates the quality of the team. He’d be the best midfielder we have, none of our midfielders have the all around quality he has.
People constantly talk about Bennacer. The same Bennacer who according to Empoli’s director didn’t want to join Milan and had to be convinced. BTW Empoli was relegated that season. And he still hasn’t renewed his contract after not being able to cement a starting 11 role in 3 years as a Milan player.
We need to stop over hyping average players.

  5. For 10-15M you absolutely bring in Sanches. Not every player is Milan’s first choice. This is a business. All that matters is what he gives on the pitch. M&M know we need another mid. Those that say we have Poegba and Adli – don’t get it. YES they are great talents and will be great IMO – but need to be given time _ just as Tonali did. Unfair to put that much pressure on those two right off the start, and at 10-15M and at 24 yrs of age – Sanches still has resale value – so it would be a solid deal from a financial and sporting standpoint. So you do it regardless if we were his first choice or not. Most players play for $$$ not the color of the shirt. It’s just how modern football is nowadays. Some fans need to wake up to reality. Platers want to get paid. Period. Color of shirt is mostly secondary unfortunately
