TMW: Milan’s interest in Napoli star Elmas confirmed – a bid could be launched next week

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Eljif Elmas from Napoli and could present an offer next week, according to a report.

According to TMW, Elmas remains in the orbit of Milan. The Macedonian is liked by the Rossoneri because he is considered a player who can play both in the midfield and as part of the attacking trident, given that he has played as a playmaker and as a winger with Napoli.

Elmas is being viewed as a potential target in the event that the non-arrival of Renato Sanches becomes official, with the Portugal international moving ever closer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Milan are working under the radar to sign the 23-year-old and could present an offer in the next few days to Napoli, though there is no figure mentioned nor is the formula of a potential deal specified.

Taner Karaman – the host of the Turkish TV A Spor TV – reported earlier today that Milan have offered €35m for Macedonian midfielder Elmas and the proposal was sent to Napoli just two days ago.

Elmas has 11 goals and 8 assists in 126 games for the Partenopei, and made 37 appearances in the league last season, even scoring the winner against Milan at San Siro.

  1. Elmas is a very good player and I would love him at Milan.
But, he can only play in the attacking trident behind the striker, he can’t play in the double pivot.

  2. Hang on, but earlier today you reported a bid has been submitted. I’m starting to think that maybe no-one actually knows and people are just making stuff up…

    1. Exactly!

Given that UCL squad rule only allow 17 non-homegrown players who are not U-21 and that Milan already has 19 of them (2 over the limit), the sheer number of non-homegrown being linked is ridiculous.
