GdS: Milan to meet agent of Spurs defender soon – the current state of negotiations

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on multiple different fronts to reinforce the squad and they are hopeful of signing Japhet Tanganga from Spurs, a report claims.

As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan have set their sights on the 23-year-old Tottenham defender and are aiming to recreate an operation similar to the one that saw Fikayo Tomori arrive back in January 2021.

The aim therefore is to sign Tanganga on an initial loan deal from Spurs and then evaluate making it a permanent purchase in summer 2023, but the London club for their part are pushing for it to become an obligation to buy.

The player himself is more than open to joining the Rossoneri despite the interest of other Premier League teams, but an agreement between Milan and Spurs is needed and on Thursday a meeting could be held with Tanganga’s entourage to discuss the deal further.

If Milan do not manage to get Tanganga they are still expected to go for a new centre-back given the fact they will be competing on three fronts again in the upcoming season.
